Relaxing: less stress = better record

The best thing about a residential recording studio is that you can focus 100% on what you want to record. No cars or taxis home or to a hotel and none of the distraction of day to day life. But you still need to unwind a bit at the end of the day.

Here at The Furnace we’ve created a comfortable environment for when the day's recording is over. The studio accommodation can house six people comfortably and we also have properties within a few minutes' walk if you need more room. 

You have everything you need in one place to feed and sleep six people. Have a look at our rates and you’ll see that just renting a hotel for six people would cost more than it costs per day here at The Furnace!

In the lounge you have a TV, DVD player, Nintendo Wii and a Super Nintendo Entertainment System (if you want to get a bit retro).

We have art spaces which you can also hire whilst you are here if you want to work on artwork whilst you are “in the zone” and there are no distractions. We also have a resident photographer who will take some snaps of you in the studio free of charge (unless you don’t want us to) and we have a dedicated photography studio if you want to get promo shots and album photography done whilst you are here.

The studio has over 200m² of accommodation and you have plenty of space to enjoy the amazing weather. We have built a barbeque pit in the garden which is where most people unwind after a good day of recording.

There are forests and caves within about 10 minutes walk and an excellent fishing lake (if you are into that sort of thing) about 10 minutes away. The weather is similar to Turkey or Greece during summer months (hot and sunny!) and we get short snowy winters.

The cost of living over here is very, very low. A good bottle of wine is about £2, a pint of beer about 50p and a packet of 20 cigarettes about £2! And the food is cheap too. There are plenty of locals that grow and sell their own organic fruit and veg, but there are also big supermarkets if you prefer a more conventional shop. We also brew our own cider if that’s what you fancy.

If you aren’t into tidying up after yourself, we can provide a housemaid service to clean your accommodation while you are recording for a reasonable rate so you have one less thing to worry about.
