Irrespective of how good your equipment is, if you don’t know how to play the keyboard or properly tweak your sound, the equipment is worthless.

You not only have to be the creator of your wonderful music, you are also required to be the audio engineer and producer. The bad news is that the difference between you and the experts is many years of experience, and the knowledge gained from that. The good news is, you are not hampered by inferior equipment. The modern professional studios have compressors, limiters, computer automation and many more digital aids. An up to date software package has all of these as well, so now all you have to do is figure out how to harness its power.

If you are serious about building your own digital recording studio, you need to know that the equipment does not play great music by itself. In order to reap the benefits of all the new technology, you need to put in the hours learning how to best use it all. However, once this is achieved, you will produce music that you never dreamed possible.
